Snow Plow Damage is Harbinger of Weeds

Snow fall has been steady over the last few weeks. Commercial snow removal can sometimes result in damaged areas near sidewalks and driveways. These areas are prime location for infestations of weeds as soon as the weather breaks. Be prepared to re-seed or re-sod these damage areas first thing this spring. Crabgrass and prostrate knotweed are particularly well-suited to invade these situations. For more infomation on spring weed control or specific information on weeds visit the MSU Turf Weeds web site.
