Yusong Mu is Coordinator for the MSU American-Sino Turfgrass Education Program (ASTEP), Michigan State's international undergraduate turf program with China.
Yusong is fluent in English and Chinese and has an intimate understanding of the two cultures. His primary responsibilities include overseeing program logistics and coordinating student internships of golf course management and undergrad research. He works with various university offices to help with U.S. Dept. of State-required internship visa and internship employment paperwork, student health insurance paperwork, student Social Security Card application, etc. He travels to China to teach Technical Terminology (Fall semester) and Turfgrass Strategies (Spring semester) to ASTEP students. He also conducts golf course intern and site visits, including trips to more than 40 courses in various parts of the U.S.
Mr. Mu's professional background includes golf course management experiences from several courses in the Washington, D.C. Capital Beltway area. He holds a Master's degree in Turf & Golf Course Management from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
